Product · Stock, Recipes & Costing

Recipe costing and real cost per dish, with stock that decrements itself.

Map recipes and ingredients once. Every dish sold auto-decrements the stock, recalculates real cost using the latest purchase price, and alerts you when something dips below threshold. Add-on of Bouzon POS — no lock-in, disable in one click.

What's included

Auto-decrement

Configurable: when sent to kitchen (captures the "commitment" early before payment), when paid (reflects the confirmed sale), or manual only. Switch modes from /pos/inventario without restarting anything.

Recipes with breakdown

Each dish links its ingredients with quantity and expected spoilage. The real cost per dish is computed in real time using the latest purchase price — useful for spotting dishes that lost margin.

Margin visible at a glance

The product editor shows cost, sale price and margin % with colour coding (green/saffron/red). If a supplier raises prices and the margin drops below threshold, you see it before printing the new menu.

Low-stock alerts

Per-ingredient threshold. The /pos/inventario panel filters ingredients in "low" (saffron) or "out" (terracotta) state. The POS warns when adding a dish whose recipe contains an out-of-stock ingredient.

Full traceability

Every movement stays in history (purchase, spoilage with reason, count, adjustment, auto-sale) with date, user and free-text note. CSV-exportable for monthly reports or fiscal audit.

AI menu import

Paste your menu as PDF, photo or text and Gemini 2.5 Flash extracts products with price and VAT per category. Speeds up initial setup — ingredients are mapped afterwards so auto-decrement starts working.

Frequently asked

What we get asked the most

How much does the Stock & Recipes module cost?

Stock & Recipes is a POS add-on — it does not sell standalone, it needs the POS as the data source. The POS + Stock combo is €49.98/month with no lock-in. If you already have POS-only (€29.99/month), the increment to add Stock is +€19.99/month. It is a subscription independent of the web plan — it does not require having your website with Bouzon Digital.

How does it decrement stock with each sale?

Three configurable modes from /pos/inventario: (1) "When sent to kitchen" — stock drops when the waiter sends the order to print (more conservative, captures the "commitment" before payment); (2) "When paid" — stock drops when the ticket is closed (reflects the confirmed sale); (3) "Manual" — you discount it yourself from the panel. Most restaurants prefer "When sent to kitchen" because it captures real voids before they affect inventory.

Do I have to create recipes by hand one by one?

No. You can paste your menu as PDF, photo or text into the menu importer and Gemini 2.5 Flash extracts products with prices and VAT. Initial recipes need mapping (linking each dish to its ingredients with quantities), but the editor allows duplicating similar recipes and bulk-dragging ingredients. For a typical restaurant, ~60–80 recipes get mapped in ~3 hours.

Does it calculate the real cost of each dish?

Yes, in real time. Every ingredient purchase updates the "latest price" and the cost of any recipe using that ingredient recalculates automatically. Example: if you raise potatoes from €0.90/kg to €1.15/kg, the "Patatas bravas" recipe cost rises immediately and you see the new margin when charging the dish. Useful for spotting dishes that have lost margin from supplier price hikes.

Does it support spoilage with a reason?

Yes. When you record a movement of type "Spoilage" you must pick a reason from a dropdown (expired · broken · spilled · burnt · unsold · taste-test · gift · other) or enter a free-text one. The trail stays in the history for monthly reports (how much is lost per reason) and for fiscal audit if needed.

How does it compare with Excel, Holded or Apicbase?

Excel is free but does not connect to the POS — you have to update by hand each night. Holded is general accounting+stock (~€50/month with the stock module); it works but lacks real-time recipe costing. Apicbase is a professional product for chains (>€200/month) with KDS, recipes and integrated purchasing — overkill for a small restaurant. Bouzon Stock & Recipes sits between Excel and Apicbase: integrated with the POS (auto-decrement), enough for 30–150 covers/day, and at a reasonable European price point.

Can I turn it off if it does not fit?

Yes. The module is contracted separately from the POS — from /plataforma you can disable it at any time. The POS keeps working exactly the same; you just lose auto-decrement and recipes. The history is kept in case you reactivate it.

Want help mapping your recipes?

With the POS already running, mapping the initial recipes (60–80 dishes) takes 3–4 hours. We sit with you in the session, walk you through 5 dishes, and you clone the rest. Auto-decrement live in a week.
