Why the Bouzon Digital POS in Vélez-Málaga

One POS for the old town, the promenade and the fish market

Vélez-Málaga is not a single market. The Vélez old town lives off tapas bars and customers from the whole district all year round; Torre del Mar, with about seven kilometres of promenade, fills its terraces in July and August; and Caleta de Vélez has its own fish market and fried-fish restaurants working with the day's anchovies. The same POS has to serve all three, with the town's two fairs as the stress test. Bouzon Digital is based in Benalmádena, about 40 km away via the A-7.

Verifactu from day one

Included — no extra module, no paid upgrade. The POS issues the simplified ticket with AEAT QR validation code, chained hash and XAdES signature from the very first sale. You do not register the software anywhere: no such registry exists. We sign the responsible declaration as the producer and it is published at bouzondigital.com/en/legal/verifactu-responsible-declaration/; your only paperwork is your own FNMT certificate. Verifactu is mandatory in Spain from January 2027 (companies) and July 2027 (self-employed) for every bar and restaurant in Vélez-Málaga, Torre del Mar and Caleta de Vélez.

Bluetooth for the Torre del Mar promenade

In August the WiFi on the Torre del Mar Paseo Marítimo gets saturated with every phone hanging off the same access point. The POS prints orders on Bluetooth SPP kitchen printers connected to the device, bypassing the router, and if the internet drops it keeps taking payments. Floor plan with free numbering of terrace tables.

The tablet or PC you already have

The POS runs without limitations on Android or Windows; on iOS, with limitations: it does not print directly. No proprietary hardware or on-site server, and it updates itself in the cloud. Setup happens at your venue —Benalmádena is about 40 km away via the A-7— or by video call in under 2 hours.

Bilingual for Axarquía residents

The Axarquía has a British, German, Scandinavian and Dutch community that eats out in winter too, and Torre del Mar adds seasonal tourists every summer. The bilingual ES/EN QR menu and reservation widget in Spanish and English activate in the same account as the POS — no duplicate tools.

Booking, QR menu and POS in one account

If your Torre del Mar restaurant also uses Bouzon Digital bookings, the reservation appears on the POS floor plan when it is seated and the waiter opens the ticket from that table, linked to the booking (seating a reservation does not open the ticket on its own). QR menu orders go to the same kitchen queue, with no Glovo in between. Website, bookings, shop, POS and stock in one account and one invoice.

One fixed fee, all year

€29.99/month in January and in August: the fee does not go up in high season or during the fair. No contract, no setup fee and no hidden modules; cancel any month. Over 24 months, compared to ~€1,190 for a lightweight sector POS or ~€2,640 for a proprietary-hardware POS (advanced tier), the difference shows — and support comes from a company in the province of Málaga.

Frequently asked questions

POS for restaurants in Vélez-Málaga — FAQ

How much does a cloud POS cost for a bar or restaurant in Vélez-Málaga or Torre del Mar?
The Bouzon Digital cloud POS costs €29.99/month (POS only) or €49.98/month (POS + Stock & Recipes). Over 24 months including tablet + kitchen printer the total is ~€950, compared to ~€1,190 for a lightweight sector POS, ~€1,640 for a proprietary-hardware POS (entry tier), ~€2,640 for a proprietary-hardware POS (advanced tier) or ~€4,430 for a premium international POS. No contract — cancel any month. Bouzon Digital is based in Benalmádena, about 40 km from Vélez-Málaga via the A-7.
Does the Bouzon Digital POS include Verifactu compliance for bars and restaurants in Vélez-Málaga?
Yes. Verifactu is included in the base price — no extra module required. The POS issues the simplified ticket with AEAT QR validation code, chained hash and XAdES signature from the first sale. You do not register the software anywhere: no such registry exists. Bouzon Digital signs the responsible declaration as the software producer (art. 13 RD 1007/2023) and it is published at bouzondigital.com/en/legal/verifactu-responsible-declaration/ — the law fines whoever uses an uncertified system €50,000 per year. Your only paperwork is your own FNMT certificate. Mandatory in Spain from January 2027 for companies and July 2027 for self-employed — including the tapas bars of the Vélez old town, the beach bars of Torre del Mar and the fried-fish restaurants of Caleta de Vélez.
Does the POS work for a beach bar on the Torre del Mar promenade when the WiFi is saturated in August?
Yes. In August the Torre del Mar Paseo Marítimo is packed and the venue WiFi gets saturated. The Bouzon Digital POS prints orders on Bluetooth SPP kitchen printers connected directly to the device, bypassing the router, so the order reaches the grill even when the WiFi does not. And if the internet drops completely, it keeps taking payments and sending orders. The configurable floor plan numbers seafront terrace tables freely.
Can I use the Bouzon Digital POS in my Vélez-Málaga bar without buying a Bouzon Digital website?
Yes: the POS can be subscribed on its own, from €29.99/month, even if another provider runs your website or you do not have one yet. If you later add a Bouzon Digital website, bookings and the online shop connect to the POS by themselves: a seated reservation appears on the floor plan with its ticket linked, and QR table orders go into the same kitchen queue.
Does the POS include stock control and recipe costing for a fried-fish restaurant in Caleta de Vélez?
The POS + Stock & Recipes plan (€49.98/month) adds automatic inventory decrement on every sale, recipe costing (e.g. fried anchovies, 200 g portion × cost ~€1.80 → sale €9-12; salt-baked sea bream 500 g × cost ~€4.20 → sale €16-19; salad with Axarquía avocado × cost ~€1.40 → sale €8-11), low-stock alerts and waste tracking. Anchovies from the Caleta de Vélez fish market do not cost the same in low season as in August: automated recipe costing shows you when a portion margin is shrinking before you sell below cost.
Can the POS handle the Torre del Mar Fair and the San Miguel Fair?
Yes. The Bouzon Digital POS is cloud-based with no limit on tickets, tables or transactions. Vélez-Málaga has two peaks, not one: the Torre del Mar Fair in August, at the height of the promenade season, and the San Miguel Fair in late September or early October, when the coast has slowed down and the Vélez old town hosts the whole district. Neither requires extra licences or capacity upgrades.
How does the Bouzon Digital POS help a Vélez-Málaga restaurant with international guests?
Vélez-Málaga has two kinds of guests who read the menu in English: seasonal tourists who fill Torre del Mar in July and August, and the British, German, Scandinavian and Dutch community settled in the Axarquía, who eat out in January too. The bilingual ES/EN QR menu from the Shop module and the reservation widget in Spanish and English activate in the same account as the POS — no duplicate tools.
What is the advantage of choosing a cloud POS based in the province of Málaga for my restaurant in Vélez-Málaga?
Bouzon Digital is based in Arroyo de la Miel (Benalmádena), about 40 km from Vélez-Málaga via the A-7. A local Costa del Sol company that knows the rhythm of the Torre del Mar beach bars, the fried-fish restaurants of Caleta de Vélez and the year-round tapas bars of the old town. In-person meetings available at your venue. No SaaS vendor from Madrid or Barcelona has that knowledge of the Axarquía.
What if the internet goes down mid-service?
It keeps taking payments. Offline the POS opens and closes tables, sends orders to the kitchen over the local network or Bluetooth, takes cash, card on an external terminal, Bizum and bank transfer, handles partial payments and closes the till. Every action is queued and syncs by itself when the internet is back, without ever duplicating a sale. What cannot happen offline: the fiscal receipt with the Verifactu QR (a provisional receipt prints and the fiscal one is issued on sync), QR payments via Stripe, and the Z report and historical till closes. The full table of what works and what does not is published at www.bouzondigital.com/en/pos-offline/.
