Why the Bouzon Digital POS in Bilbao

A POS built for Basque gastronomy

Bilbao is one of Europe's gastronomic capitals: high-turnover pintxos bars in the Casco Viejo, traditional cider houses with txotx menus, Michelin-starred restaurants in the Ensanche, terraces along the Nervión river, and demand spikes during Aste Nagusia that dwarf any normal weekend. The Bouzon Digital POS is built for that real-world operation — without collapsing under volume, without separate kitchen modules, without on-site installation.

Verifactu from day 1

Included without extra modules or paid upgrades. The POS emits the simplified ticket with AEAT QR code, chained hash and XAdES signature from the first sale — mandatory across Spain from 2027, including venues in the Basque fiscal territory.

Pintxos, half portions and full portions

Fully configurable modifier groups: "Format" (pintxo ~€2–3, half portion ~€6, full portion ~€11) with automatic price delta, "Temperature" (cold / hot / grilled), garnishes and allergens. Each modifier prints on the kitchen ticket. For cider houses, the txotx menu (chorizo, bacalao, txuleta, Idiazabal cheese) works as a fixed set menu or as individual passes.

Free hardware choice · no installation

Works with no limitations on the Android or Windows device you already own; on iOS, with limitations: it cannot print directly. The kitchen printer can be any ESC/POS model, over the network, USB or Bluetooth. No on-site technician, no local server, no manual updates. Activate the POS in minutes from the Casco Viejo or from Getxo.

Bookings + shop integrated

When a reservation is seated in the Bouzon Digital booking system it appears on the POS floor plan and the waiter opens the ticket from that table themselves and it is linked to the booking (seating a reservation does not open the ticket on its own) — no retyping the name, headcount or notes. Shop widget orders (local delivery without Glovo) reach the same kitchen queue as POS orders.

Stock and recipe costing for Basque cuisine

With the POS + Stock plan (€49.98/month): automatic inventory deduction on every sale, recipe costing (txuleta beef rib 800 g × cost/kg + piquillo peppers 60 g + txakoli wine 100 ml), low-stock alerts. Real food cost per dish, in real time.

Fixed, transparent pricing

€29.99/month, no surprises. No lock-in, no activation fee, no hidden modules. Cancel any month — though once you've set up Verifactu and pintxos modifier groups, you won't want to.

Full stack

The POS is just one of 8 modules

Bouzon Digital scales from POS only to the complete digital stack — website + bookings + shop + POS + stock — all in one account, one invoice, one provider. A Bilbao restaurant with all 8 modules active replaces TheFork, Glovo, a locally installed POS and a web agency with a single predictable monthly cost, saving ~€15,000–20,000 over 24 months compared to contracting each service separately.

Frequently asked questions

POS for restaurants in Bilbao — FAQ

How much does a cloud POS cost for a restaurant or pintxos bar in Bilbao?
The Bouzon Digital POS costs €29.99/month (POS only) or €49.98/month (POS + Stock & Recipes). Over 24 months, the total cost including tablet + standard kitchen printer is ~€950, compared to ~€1,190 for a lightweight sector POS, ~€1,640 for a proprietary-hardware POS (entry tier), ~€2,640 for a proprietary-hardware POS (advanced tier), or ~€4,430 for a premium international POS. No lock-in — cancel any month.
Does the Bouzon Digital POS comply with Verifactu for restaurants in Bilbao and the Basque Country?
Yes. Verifactu is included in the base price with no extra module. The POS emits the simplified ticket with AEAT QR validation, chained hash and XAdES signature. You do not register the software anywhere: no such registry exists. Bouzon Digital signs the responsible declaration as the software producer (art. 13 RD 1007/2023) and gives it to you in writing — the law fines whoever uses an uncertified system €50,000 per year. Your only paperwork is your own FNMT certificate. Mandatory across Spain from January 2027 for companies and July 2027 for sole traders, including Basque fiscal territory.
Does the POS handle pintxos format modifiers (pintxo, half portion, full portion) for Basque bars?
Yes. Modifier groups are fully configurable. The "Format" group can include "pintxo" (~€2–3), "half portion" (~€6) and "full portion" (~€11) with automatic price delta. The "Temperature" group (cold / hot / grilled) and garnishes complete the workflow for any Casco Viejo pintxos bar. For cider houses, the txotx menu (chorizo in cider, salt cod at pil-pil, txuleta steak, Idiazabal cheese, walnuts, quince) can be set up as a fixed-price set menu or as individual passes.
Can the POS handle the volume of Bilbao's Aste Nagusia festival?
Yes. Being cloud-native, the Bouzon Digital POS scales without ticket limits. During Aste Nagusia — when Greater Bilbao receives over one million visitors and bars in the Casco Viejo and Gran Vía multiply their turnover — no special preparation or extra licences are needed. The configurable floor plan allows temporary table redistribution for outdoor terraces or extended bar areas. Multiple terminals at the same venue are included in the monthly plan at no extra cost.
Can I use the Bouzon Digital POS in my Basque cider house without subscribing to the Bouzon Digital website?
Yes. The Bouzon Digital POS is a standalone product — it works whether your website is hosted elsewhere or you have no public website at all. The POS module starts at €29.99/month. For cider houses: manage the txotx menu as a fixed set (price per cover, all-inclusive) or as individual passes with cooking/temperature modifiers. The floor plan supports the long communal table format typical of sidrerías. Should you later add Bouzon Digital's website, bookings and shop, they integrate natively with the POS.
Does the POS include stock control and automatic inventory for Basque cuisine?
The POS + Stock & Recipes plan (€49.98/month) adds automatic inventory deduction on every sale, a recipe costing module (e.g. txuleta beef rib 800 g × cost/kg + piquillo peppers 60 g + txakoli wine 100 ml), low-stock alerts and waste tracking. Particularly valuable in Basque-cuisine restaurants where premium ingredients — txuleta, bacalao, seasonal mushrooms — have high unit costs and per-dish food cost control is critical.
What if the internet goes down mid-service?
It keeps taking payments. Offline the POS opens and closes tables, sends orders to the kitchen over the local network or Bluetooth, takes cash, card on an external terminal, Bizum and bank transfer, handles partial payments and closes the till. Every action is queued and syncs by itself when the internet is back, without ever duplicating a sale. What cannot happen offline: the fiscal receipt with the Verifactu QR (a provisional receipt prints and the fiscal one is issued on sync), QR payments via Stripe, and the Z report and historical till closes. The full table of what works and what does not is published at www.bouzondigital.com/en/pos-offline/.
What support is available for restaurants in Bilbao and Bizkaia?
Support via WhatsApp and email 24/7, every day of the year. Onboarding includes initial catalogue setup (including pintxos groups, txotx menu and modifiers), kitchen printer configuration, Verifactu setup with your FNMT certificate, and team training via video call — at no extra charge. For restaurants in Bilbao, Barakaldo, Getxo, Basauri, Leioa or anywhere else in Bizkaia we work 100% remotely with the same effectiveness as in person.
