Bouzon Waitlist · included at no cost

The door queue, on the guest's phone

They scan the QR at the entrance, enter their name and party size, and go for a walk. They see their position and estimated wait on their own phone, and get an alert when their table is ready. Without handing over a phone number, and without you paying for a single SMS.

It is included at no cost with Bouzon Bookings or the Bouzon POS. It is not a paid add-on. Equivalent products on the market charge between $25 and $150 a month for this.

How it works

  1. You put up the poster. A printable QR in A4, A5 or on the 58 mm receipt itself, at the door or on the bar.
  2. The guest joins on their own. Name and party size. Nothing else: no phone number, no email, no app to download.
  3. They wait wherever they like. Their phone shows their place in the queue and how long is left, updated live.
  4. You call their table from the panel. The alert reaches their phone and repeats every fifteen seconds for up to ten minutes, until they tap "On my way" or you seat them.
  5. You seat them. The picker only offers tables genuinely free in the POS, so you cannot seat anyone at an occupied table.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the waiting list cost?

Nothing. It is included at no cost for any client with Bouzon Bookings (reservations, +€9.99/month on the web plan) or the Bouzon POS (€29.99/month). It is not a paid add-on and it will not become one: it is a feature of the system you already have, not a separate product. Equivalent tools on the market charge between $25 and $150 a month for this.

Does the guest have to give me their phone number?

No, and that is deliberate. They scan the QR at the door, enter their name and party size, and from then on they see their position and estimated wait on their own phone. The "your table is ready" alert reaches them as a web notification, not as an SMS. You pay for no messages and they hand over no personal data you would then have to look after.

What if the phone is locked in their pocket? Will they notice?

Yes. When you call their table, the alert is not sent once and forgotten: the server repeats it every fifteen seconds for up to ten minutes, and stops as soon as the guest taps "On my way", as soon as you seat them, or when the ten minutes are up. The server does this, not the page: a locked phone suspends the tab's JavaScript, so a timer inside the web page would repeat nothing.

Will their phone vibrate?

It might and it might not, and we would rather say so. On Android 8 and later, whether a notification vibrates is decided by the notification channel the phone itself creates for each website, and that setting sometimes switches itself off. We request vibration, but we cannot promise it. The visual alert and the sound do get through.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, with one condition worth knowing up front: on iOS web notifications only arrive if the page has been added to the home screen, because Safari does not deliver them to an ordinary tab. That is why the waiting-list screen is installable and asks iPhone guests to add it before joining the queue. We explain it in their language at the right moment. On Android it works straight from the browser.

What does the host see at the door?

The queue in order with name, party size and how long they have been waiting, plus three actions: notify, seat, or mark as left. When seating, the table picker only offers tables that are genuinely free in the POS at that moment — not a theoretical list. And the other way round: if you are in the POS and a table frees up while somebody is waiting, the POS itself tells you with a one-tap prompt.

Is it any use for a packed beach restaurant at lunchtime?

That is exactly what it is for. People waiting on their feet at the door scatter: they go for a walk, to the beach or to the bar next door, and come back when you call them. That clears the entrance — which in a small venue is half the terrace — and cuts the number of groups that give up and leave. It is in Spanish and English, detecting the language of the guest's phone automatically.

You already have it if you have bookings or the POS

The waiting list comes included with Bouzon Bookings (+€9.99/month on the web plan, 0% booking commission) and with the Bouzon POS (€29.99/month, no website required).
